Are you passionate about Photography …….. If so, working as an Assistant Photographer at My 1st Years might be for you As part of the wider creative team, you’ll be working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced growing business creating and assisting in beautifully cohesive campaigns across all customer touchpoints.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


As our Assistant Photographer your key responsibilities are:


  • Shoot and edit product cutouts across all ranges and brands at M1Y.
  • Support the Lead Photographer on campaign and lifestyle shoots when required.
  • Working with the internal teams, you will be required to represent and shoot the M1Y brand following guidelines and KPI’s.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of photography lighting, Capture One and Canon camera systems.
  • Cropping and processing of all images, maintaining file size specification guidelines.
  • Accurately archiving images to be easily accessed by necessary team members.


Skills and Knowledge


As our Assistant Photographer, you would be expected to have the following skills and knowledge:


  • You have technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom & Capture One.
  • Willingness to develop photographic and creative skillset.
  • Passion for keeping up to date with creative & retail trends.
  • Relevant experience/interest in product photography.
  • Ability to use initiative and think ahead by anticipating the requirements of a brief, asking the right questions and being prepared for a variety of scenarios and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the wider business.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with an appreciation for the need for quality across all creative output.
  • Commercially astute to ensure that creative designs hit the wider business goals.
  • Love the brand as much as we do

Location: You will be based in our office in Northampton where we are operating a hybrid model of a minimum 3 days in the office. Flexibility around this will be required when necessary.
