External Affairs Specialist

Energy company is looking for an experience external affairs manager to join their communications team. Working across different projects this person will coordinate strategy, plans and messaging ensuring work with press, public affairs and community teams is aligned.

They will:

  • Proactively put in place a stakeholder mapping and engagement plan
  • Develop strong relationships with key press on a national, regional and local level
  • Develop strong relationships with key political and community stakeholders
  • Build up a bank of content, position statements and Q and As for individual projects
  • Work with wider communications team as needed and supporting projects and aligning outputs
  • Act as spokesperson and advise on reputation management
  • Part of the out of hours press office

Ideally looking for someone from energy or utilities sectors with experience of taking projects through public consultation.

Flex working is two days a week in the office.
