Due to a number of newly-won, multi-year consultancy projects , we are looking to recruit an experienced IBM Workload Scheduler/Automation (IWS/IWA) Consultant. The role will be home-based, although some UK and/or International travel may be required on occasion. Candidates must be UK based.


Role requirements and responsibilities: 

  • Good Unix/Linux/Windows skills.
  • Basic IWS scheduling knowledge, including use of the CLI & GUI.
  • Load testing and reporting on IWS scheduling objects.
  • Analysis and solution design experience. An example from previous work would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of ETL concepts. (Specific tools not an issue.)
  • Good programming skills in Javascript & Python. Other languages would be an advantage.
  • SQL/Xquery experience, specific DB not important.
  • General scheduling skills, knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows scheduling (AT,CRON.), knowledge of other schedulers such as BMC Control-M or CA-Autosys/Automic an advantage
  • Project management knowledge and experience.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, diagnose issues and learn new skills.
  • Requirement to provide some out of hours support when necessary or working on non-UK based projects.
