Main Purpose of the Job


This position will be responsible for providing direct support to the global Complex Chemical division. Although based in the UK the role will also support our sites in Staad (Switzerland), Vienna (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Berlin (Germany). The role will be the key point of contact for the commercial & operational teams of the division. The person will be instrumental in the strategic vision of our Complex Chemical division and support their day-to-day business matters as well as long term projects.



Key Responsibilities


  • Establishing a strong working relationship with the Complex Chemicals commercial and operational teams. Instigating a regular finance reporting & analysis cadence.
  • Working with the financial accounting and commercial teams provide month-end reporting packages including in-depth understanding of performance drivers and KPIs.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, analyse variances and support gap closing measures.
  • Support the development, training, understanding and reporting from the Sales CRM tool.
  • Implement and lead the regular forecasting/budget cycle for the Complex Chemical division. Provide the group finance team a clear understanding and trajectory of the division.
  • Provide robust challenge to the business during planning processes.
  • Lead the capex process in close collaboration with operational teams.
  • Supporting further development of the SAP ecosystem alongside the Finance Process Excellence manager& IS team to improve speed and accuracy of reporting.
  • In tandem with the wider FP&A team support data download, analysis and improvement of offline reporting tools.
  • Work closely with the business to assist in the control and optimization of inventory levels working capital overall.
  • Champion finance throughout the wider organisation. Deliver a high-quality finance provision leading to high levels of trust of finance within the business.

Candidate Requirements


  • University degree in Business and/or Accounting desirable
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified essential
  • Extensive experience working in a FP&A/Group environment is essential
  • Understanding of working in a complex divisional structure international business required
  • Experience in a PE portfolio company would be desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge in Pharmaceutical/ Bio-Tech/Medical Device would be desirable but not essential
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills in a senior management environment.
  • Day to day experience of SAP
  • Comfortable extracting and working with large data sets
  • Positive attitude, capable, energetic, analytical with a solid understanding of accounting
  • Understanding of group business processes required


This role will be working on a hybrid basis, from our site in Compton, Berkshire. You will need your own transport to be able to get to our site.
