About the Pub

The Bruce Arms pub sits to the north side of the historic market square in Masham, North Yorkshire. Masham is the Yorkshire Dales market town well known as home of Black Sheep and Theakstons breweries. The pub offers great informal dining and drinking for visitors to Masham and locals alike. The huge beer garden here has a spectacular outlook over the River Ure and Lower Wensleydale, earning the pub the nickname ‘the pub with a view’

The town attracts a good amount of tourists thanks to the beautiful surrounding countryside and the town’s busy calendar of events throughout the summer. Surrounding Area

Masham is a vibrant community located in Lower Wensleydale that has excellent attractions of its own as well as being a great base from which to explore the nearby towns and cities of Ripon, Harrogate, York and Thirsk. The town has the largest market square in the district thanks to its historic connection to sheep farming, market days are several times a week with an extra Farmer’s Market every first Sunday from April to September. A sheep fair is held annually at the end of September to honour the town’s history which is an excellent tourist attraction. Surrounded by countryside this is a great starting point to explore the Yorkshire Dales and Moors as there are plenty of rivers, reservoirs and woodlands on Masham’s doorstep.
