Job Summary:

As a Sales Engineer within our client's Service Department, you'll be instrumental in driving the global service offering to new heights. Your role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, from identifying and engaging potential clients to managing the entire sales process and nurturing long-term customer relationships. With a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional value and service excellence, you'll represent our client while visiting customer sites, understanding their unique needs, and proposing innovative solutions. Your strategic thinking and commercial savvy, will be pivotal in our continuous improvement efforts, ensuring we remain at the forefront of our industry.

Requirements to be successful:

  • Successful history in strategic selling and customer relationship management.
  • In-depth understanding of service engineering, particularly within automation and machine manufacturing industries.
  • Proven track record in service engineering solution selling, with strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of commercial awareness and adaptability in communication styles.

Accountabilities:

  • Interpret our client's service department’s sales strategy to pinpoint promising customers and opportunities within our target sectors.
  • Identify key decision makers and adeptly present our full suite of service offerings, emphasizing their tailored benefits to each prospect.
  • Craft and submit compelling tenders that align closely with our client's strategic objectives, enhancing our competitive edge in the market.
  • Lead the entire sales process, from initial contact to contract closure, crafting winning strategies and performance metrics for each opportunity.
  • Assist the commercial team in crafting winning quotations, ensuring technical details are communicated effectively alongside scope of supply information.
  • Manage customer expectations and relationships, gaining insights into their long-term vision and strategic goals to align our service offerings accordingly.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in strategic selling and cultivating long-term customer relationships
  • Strong understanding of service engineering within automation and machine manufacturing industries
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and presentation skills
  • Effective communication across all levels of stakeholders, adapting style to suit the situation
  • Skilled in presenting technical solutions, company presentations, and Unique Selling Propositions (USPs)
  • High level of commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers
  • Valid Driving Licence
