As an Estimator & Surveyor at AES Smart, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of commercial solar and EV projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and conducting thorough site surveys to ensure feasibility and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial solar and EV projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and other related expenses.
Analyse project requirements and specifications to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to refine estimates and ensure alignment with project goals and budgets.
Use estimation software and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process.

Site Surveying:
Conduct on-site surveys to assess project feasibility, site conditions, and potential challenges.
Gather and document relevant data, including site dimensions, topography, shading analysis, and electrical infrastructure.
Use surveying equipment and technology to ensure precise measurements and data collection.
Prepare comprehensive site survey reports with recommendations for project design and implementation.

Project Planning and Support:
Assist in the preparation of project proposals and bid documents.
Provide support during project planning and development stages, including reviewing designs and technical drawings.
Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to gather requirements and provide project updates.
Present estimates and survey findings to clients in a clear and professional manner.
Address client inquiries and provide technical support as needed.

Continuous Improvement:
Participate in post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in estimation and surveying processes.
Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator, Surveying Certification) are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation and site surveying, preferably in the solar and EV industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, RSMeans), CAD software, and surveying equipment. Strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical infrastructure, and construction methodologies.

Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly to various stakeholders.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Project Management: Familiarity with project management principles and practices. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct physical site surveys, which may involve climbing ladders, walking on rooftops, and navigating uneven terrain.

Additional Requirements:
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours if necessary to meet project deadlines.
