Contract - 3 to 6 Months

Leeds / Hybrid - 2 days per week on-site

An experienced Retail IT Project Manager is needed to join a leading retail organization undergoing a strategic technology overhaul of their in-store operations and associated technology systems.

In this key role, you'll the Retail IT Project Manager will manage the delivery of critical projects enhancing physical retail stores through innovative technologies. This includes modernising inventory management, stock replenishment, point-of-sale systems, clienteling tools, and other customer-facing solutions. You'll bridge the gap between technical teams and store associates to create seamless digital and physical shopping journeys.

Collaborating with third-party retail tech vendors, the Retail IT Project Manager will oversee rigorous governance and ensure projects adhere to industry best practices for risk management, quality assurance, and hybrid methodologies.

Retail IT Project Manager - Key Requirements

  • Proven experience leading IT implementation projects within retail environments, with a focus on in-store technologies
  • Strong understanding of retail store operations and delivering solutions that elevate the customer experience
  • Skilled in managing complex stakeholder groups, from executive leadership to frontline retail staff
  • Expertise in agile and traditional project management methodologies
  • Proficiency with retail-specific platforms like merchandising, inventory, POS, and clienteling systems
  • Background in implementing emerging retail technologies (RFID, computer vision, IoT, etc.) is a plus

If you're a seasoned Retail IT Project Manager passionate about transforming brick-and-mortar stores, this is an excellent opportunity to play a critical role in a major, industry-leading transformation programme.

The role will be based out of the client's head office in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with the expectation you will be on-site approximately 2 days per week throughout the duration of the contract. The contract is for an initial 3 month term but there is plenty of scope to extend well beyond this.
