The Organisation

Our client is dedicated to ending the harm caused by gender-based violence. They work with women and children, offering services that are tailored to the unique needs of survivors. Our client’s approach is holistic and empowering, partnering with survivors to help them achieve independent, abuse-free lives.

Our client is now looking for a Trustee to join them on a part-time basis for a two- or three-year term, with the possibility of extension.

This is a unique opportunity for a committed and experienced strategic-level individual with financial management experience and a string grasp of UK charity governance to join our client’s dedicated Board of Trustees and help guide them in achieving their mission to end gender-based violence.

You will have the chance to contribute to our client’s strategic direction whilst making a significant impact on the lives of women and children.

The Role

As a Trustee, you will support and provide advice on our client’s purpose, vision, goals, and activities, ensuring they continue to operate effectively and achieve their mission.

You will oversee financial plans and budgets, monitor key risks, and ensure they are administered efficiently.

About You

To be considered as a Trustee, you will need:

- Strong experience of developing, deploying, and evaluating strategic plans
- Significant experience of managing, motivating, and developing people
- Experience of financial management
- An understanding of UK charity governance
- An understanding of work in the Violence Against Women and Girls sector

Time Commitment

Board meetings are held four times a year in person at the London office. Additionally, all trustees are expected to join a subcommittee, which meets online. The overall time commitment is expected to be around two – three days per month.

The closing date for this role is 30th September 2024.
