Kensington Mortgage Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barclays Bank UK PLC from 1 March 2023, and the principal activity of the Company is the origination and servicing of mortgage assets. The Company is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority for regulated activities.

Overall Purpose of Job

To manage the process of preparation of statutory accounts and audit for a number of entities, predominantly Residential Mortgage Backed Securitisations (RMBS). The role will report directly to Head of Finance Operations and involve active management of stakeholders including the statutory accounts outsource providers and external auditors.

THIS ROLE IS A 12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT, WITH 1 DAY A WEEK IN CANARY WHARF, LONDON

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and update where necessary the statutory accounts for all entities in line with IFRS, FRS 101 or 102 as required.
  • Agree templates for each type of statutory accounts with the external outsource providers and the external auditors
  • Actively manage internal and external stakeholders who provide disclosure information for the relevant statutory accounts
  • Provide financial and non-financial information to the outsource providers in the prescribed format and by specified deadlines
  • Resolve queries with external auditors relating to the statutory accounts on a timely basis
  • Review outsource providers preparation of statutory accounts for quality control purposes and feedback changes for discussion and amendment where necessary
  • Collate documents for signing of the accounts including, but not limited to
  • Engagement Letter
  • Directors' Remuneration certificates
  • Management Representation letter
  • Going Concern
  • Subsequent events confirmation
  • Board Minutes
  • Manage relationship with Directors (internal and external) and Company Secretarial department to provide the above information where necessary.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills

  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience
  • Experience of preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS, FRS 101, FRS 102
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of RMBS would be preferential
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Flexible outlook, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Articulate with good communication skills
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Able to work under pressure
