The Role
You will be planning and delivering engaging fun and developmental activity sessions to adults with complex needs.
Plan activities and sessions youd be involved with which could be; cooking, arts/games/ music and other activities club within the leisure and skills centre.
Lead on the delivery of the Cooking Session provision
Prepare workspaces and equipment in advance of session start times, as well as ensuring workspace is kept tidy at all times.
Implement and comply with health and safety procedures, in relation to the equipment used and activities undertaken.
Maintain cooking equipment to a high standard and arrange repair / replacement of items.
Work in accordance with food hygiene regulations and mandatory training
Complete all admin duties associated with the role
Prepare information/data required by senior managers for reports/papers
Provide different forms in different formats (email, written, verbal)
Document and celebrate achievements and activities completed by individuals accessing sessions
Evaluate event/activity feedback to assess effectiveness/opportunities for improvement
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
Experience creating dishes either in professional or home environment
Previous cooking experience
GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English
Food Hygiene level 2 or willingness to work towards
First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards
Able to support children and young adults to participate in a range of activities.
Highly organised, and able to multi-task.
Other useful skills and experience:
Experience of working with children and/or adults with special educational needs and complex disabilities
Practical experience/understanding of young people with disabilities and barriers and how to apply to arranging activities and events
