Cruinn is delighted to be working with a key client to source their next senior civils estimator. Our client are an innovative civil engineering contractor based in Inverness, with sites across the northeast including Dundee and Aberdeen. Focused on the renewables, energy, utilities, and transportation sectors, our client have made a name for utilising and developing novel solutions to challenging projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Bid Team to develop comprehensive bid strategies that align with client requirements
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing, ensuring all estimates are current and competitive.
  • Present and justify estimates to senior management and clients, addressing any queries with confidence.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, cost factors, and best practices to ensure our bids remain competitive.


What you'll need:

  • Significant estimation experience within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex bid estimation processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present estimates clearly and persuasively.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office Suite.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying
  • Chartered status
