North Yorkshire Police are now welcoming applications for the role of Lead Taser Trainer at the rank of Constable. The successful applicant will be based at Tadcaster Police Station, working within the Taser Training and Development Unit, which operates under the Specialist Operations Directorate.

Applicants should have experience as a specially trained Officer (STO) in the X2 Taser and be keen to impart their knowledge and experience to others.

Applicants should have a genuine desire to create and deliver quality training based on Taser that is inclusive and supportive of the needs of each and every individual student.

A passion for developing people, strong communication skills and teamworking are essential.

Although being an existing OST, Public Order or Firearms Instructor would be positive, full training will be given to the successful applicant.

This post requires dedication, flexibility and commitment.

The successful Applicant will be able to help shape the future of Taser Training in North Yorkshire and share the vision of creating a truly inclusive and supportive training environment.

In addition, at the time of application submission candidates must be able to confirm;
They are not subject to formal action plans for sickness/complaints/discipline or poor performance .

All mandatory training is up to date.

All applicants must be willing to undertake and commit to the following requirements, for their application to be considered and progressed throughout the recruitment process:

Completion of detailed vetting and PSD checks.

Attendance and successful completion of a role specific selection assessment procedure.

To be physically and medically able to pass all assessments, including nationally agreed eyesight, hearing and fitness standards.

All applications will be subject to a paper sift, in line with the core PC competencies and requirements of the role.

Candidates will be invited to interview upon being successfully short-listed.

This role is not open to PIP2 officers currently due to current personnel pressures on the force (Internal only).

Only Home Office Police Constables can apply to transfer.
