We have recently picked up one of the most exciting roles we've seen for a while; a Head of Comms & Marketing position at a Biotech startup based circa 15 minutes outside of Oxford. This individual will lead the the comms strategy across the business, working tirelessly on investor relations and helping the business through further funding rounds and breaking into new markets.

This role will report directly into the COO, requiring someone with substantial experience within comms and marketing. This person will need to have previously supported a startup/scale-up in dealing with current and potential investors, understanding the intricacies of funding and working with PE/Venture capitalist firms. They will also need to have some kind of pharma/biotech exposure in order to accurately write the marketing story behind their innovative drug offering.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and integrate an investors communication plan.
  • Work tirelessly alongside their external comms agency to get the most out of their contract.
  • Identify and segment the market, tailoring strategy to reach new audiences.
  • Lead the PR and relationship management campaigns.
  • Lead the social media/digital strategy.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • 5-8 years of internal & external communications/marketing experience
  • Proven track record of scaling a business through investor rounds
  • Strong understanding of the pharma/biotech industry
  • Ambition, drive and determination to help push the business to new heights

Logistics:

  • £100k - £140k pa. + £2k annual wellbeing bonus + Equity scheme
  • 2 days in the office, 3 from home hybrid working
  • Based 15 minutes outside of Oxford
