Pertemps are currently working with a growing business based in Glasgow City Centre who are looking to recruit a Payroll Supervisor on a permanent basis. You will join an experienced team of 8 staff who process payroll for multiply sites. The client is offering a salary up to £43k depending on experience and flexible hybrid working. You will also have free parking.

You will be responsible for supporting the managing and improvements in the payroll processes, while meeting Business and Colleague expectations, through coaching, support and development of teams and direct reports. Responsibilities will include overseeing the accurate delivery of payroll and actively support T&A activity when required to cover holidays and peak times. You will keep up to date with legislation to ensure the payroll function is legally complaint at all times.

Key Accountabilities:

Complete and support accurate delivery of all payrolls and T&A working closely with payroll manager
Keeping up to date and ensuring teams are aware of legislation and business changes/legislation for payroll and pensions.
Support the completion of Payroll and T&A deadlines are met including PAYE.
Support reporting of Pension Levy Figures and set up responsibilities, ensuring correct business has distribution of allowance.
Extensive knowledge of Holiday, Sickness, Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Statutory payments and liabilities.
Monthly Team Planning of checking & audit for all payrolls including rota for 1&7 submission to bacs
Accurate Payroll Reconciliation, analysis, and reporting.
Plan working year, with quarterly planning meeting with both departments. Ensuring there is room for ad hoc projects resource and focus.
Support the delivery of all Pension Payments to colleague Pension Plan through GPP and AE with department rota to ensure effective delivery
Ensure Taxation knowledge is current through HMRC and apply all different National Taxation ensuring all colleague fall under the correct limits and thresholds.
Operate continuous improvement and encourage both teams to get involved with a monthly forum within the monthly meeting.
Represent Payroll Shared Service in business meeting or at Tribunals and court
UAT Testing all new elements and projects to ensure safe delivery to the business and colleagues.
To complete DWP and any third party employee query forms as required
Bacs Payment Creation and Sending for Payrolls, Third Parties and PAYE.
Faster Payment Approvals
Manage Overpayments and deduction from pay
Operate salary sacrifice deductions and imports to payroll
Maintain online payslip Azure function with any training needed for the payroll team
Plan TUPE arrangement for any new take on or leavers
People Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct line management of the payroll advisors
Recruit and induct colleagues within the team as required and in line with current recruitment guidelines, ensuring all legal compliance is adhered to.
Train, develop and appraise direct reports to ensure effective leadership and motivation of own teams.
Ensuring cover in the team when required to cover absence
Approve, Manage, and build rota to cover Payroll team holidays
Conduct monthly 1:1s
Ensure team fully operate within GDPR and Information Security parameters
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Educated to CIPP degree level as a minimum, or equivalent 3 years experience
A working knowledge of payroll functions
Previous experience of effectively leading a team is essential
Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating and presenting performance data
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to lead and motivate team and lead by example
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Audit compliance.
