Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounts, the Financial Controls Lead will contribute to the strategy and objectives of the Group Financial Accounts team. Responsibilities:
- Drive delivery within the Finance Function.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting while overseeing key controls and risks.
- Report to the Head of Financial Accounts, providing support in identifying and addressing gaps in accounting policies and controls, developing new ones, and ensuring their implementation.
- Review balance sheet accounts and reconciliations, resolving issues with senior finance colleagues.
- Take ownership of balance sheet account reconciliation within Group Finance and oversee the preparation of financial statements.
- Improve processes and controls, including process automation, best practises, and cost reduction identification.
- Contribute to financial reporting and analysis.
Profile:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar).
- Excellent technical accounting skills.
- Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, with a strong focus on balance sheets and the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation.
- Exposure to and experience with process improvements.
