Our FMCG client has created a new role within their procurement team for a Senior Buyer.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for FM, Maintenance and Services that are required for the site which includes electrical/mechanical services, grounds work and roofing to name but a few.


The Senior Buyer will work closely with their colleagues in engineering and maintenance to understand their requirements and provide a network of vetted Suppliers to support their needs.


Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Leading end-to-end competitive tenders for goods and services
  • Negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best pricing and commercial agreements
  • Sourcing of new suppliers and vetting them to mitigate risk to the business
  • Build and develop business relationships with Suppliers and carry out regular performance reviews
  • Work closely with colleagues and maintain strong working relationships with them
  • Provide regular reporting to the Procurement Manager and the business
  • Continually identify areas of continuous improvement


Experience and knowledge required for the role:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar purchasing/procurement role
  • Experience in procuring FM, Maintenance and Services
  • End-to-end procurement experience
  • Strong negotiation, commercial and numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills who can confidently work with colleagues and suppliers
  • Work on own initiative and manage own workload
  • Drive change for the good of the business
  • Challenge the status quo
