We have a fabulous job opportunity for a Handy Person to join our awesome Exeter Temporary Accommodation and Assessment Team (ETAAS). We are the multi skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers. As a business we support customers with differing support needs in 2 properties in the city centre. As our handy person youll spend your time working to get our rooms turned around quickly and ready for someone to move in without delay.
Typical day as a Handy Person
Doing minor or emergency repairs, decorative touches or even cleaning in our properties or communal areas
Doing things like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paints, changing tap washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns, and clearing grounds or properties.
Carrying out regular Fire Safety checks
Working with colleagues, commercial partners and customers throughout your day.
Liaising with our Customer Service Centre and external contractors to report repairs outside of your remit and chase up outstanding works.

About You
A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.
Youre multi skilled with general maintenance skills, know a bit about general repairs, carpentry, basic plumbing and can wield a broom or paint brush
Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life.
It would be amazing if you have been a handy person in a previous job, but its not a deal breaker.
Able to use technology to liaise with maintenance and Customer Service Centre colleagues and external suppliers.
To get from A to B, youll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage

Youll join Calvin and our ETAAS team, were super passionate about what we do Were really proud of our new service, offering safe and welcoming accommodation to people who have recently had a very challenging time, living street homeless, with all the challenges that brings.Were a supportive bunch and really look out for each other.
Job details
We operate 24 hours a day, but were flexible and as long as we can meet our customers need, we can flex your work patterns to suit you.
Based at our service in Exeter, youll spend your time at our 2 properties in the city centre, where we have free parking for colleagues.
Occasionally, you may travel outside of our patch within South Devon to work on a property that you may not have worked on before, or when we have an all-hands-on-deck situation.
Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done, and we pay for that.
