The Lamb & Flag is an exceptional pub with excellent facilities in a great location. Upon entering the Lamb & Flag you are immediately greeted by the central bar servery, which sits right at the heart of this open plan pub. The interior is bright and airy, contemporary in style and decorated to a very high standard. To the left of the bar is an open fireplace, a perfect spot to get cosy on one of the leather sofas. To the right of the bar is a carvery unit and seating for over 40 covers. On the lower ground floor is a great function room for up to 50 covers, which is the perfect setting for small weddings, funerals, private meetings and events, and benefits from its own bar servery. The fully equipped commercial kitchen is more than capable of supporting a good quality pub menu. In addition, there are five good-sized, air conditioned, en-suite letting rooms which are tastefully decorated and ready to let. The private accommodation comprises of two bedrooms with a lounge area.

Regional Manager's Thoughts

I am looking for an experienced publican to run this pub, who has proven catering skills and excellent standards. It is also important that the publican is a good organiser, and able to plan events to a high standard. A good understanding of marketing techniques would be hugely beneficial to promote the pub online. This is an excellent venue for weddings and functions, with five well-presented letting rooms in addition to a trade kitchen; creating several revenue streams with which to drive the pub forward.

Surrounding Area

Glynneath is a small town lying on the River Neath, surrounded by beautiful countryside and many places of interest. The Dan-yr-Ogof Showcaves, Waterfall Country and the Brecon Beacons are all only a short drive away, attracting thousands of visitors to the area every year. The pub has great road links, being close to the main A465 dual carriageway which connects Merthyr Tydfil, Neath and Swansea, and has a population of over 5,000 people within a two-mile radius.
