Careers Plus are working on behalf of a respected public sector client to hire an experienced Storage Engineer to join the organisation.


The role will involve optimising and maintaining their storage and server infrastructure whilst working in a cross functional team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in storage systems, backup solutions, and data management to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with government standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain storage solutions for a public sector environment.
  • Monitor storage performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support for storage, server and backup services.
  • Manage data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards.
  • Document storage architectures, processes, and configurations.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Storage Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a public sector or highly regulated environment.
  • Expertise in storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS) and backup technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience of building and deploying Windows Server 2012/2016 within a Data centre environment.
  • Strong knowledge of general networking concepts.
  • Good working knowledge of scripting tools (VBScript and Powershell)
  • Proven experience working with VMWare (VCenter, ESX, VDI)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Candidates must have full right to work in the UK and be subject to Security Clearance.
