Working at our Pizza site based in Holbeach St Marks, Lincolnshire, the successful candidate will ideally have ‘Sheet and Cut’ experience within a Bakery Production Environment, ideally with experience in ‘Pizza Dough’ or ‘Bread’.

This site specialises in making chilled pizzas and is based in Holbeach St Marks, Lincolnshire. It is 11 miles from Spalding, 13.5 miles from Boston, 18 miles from Wisbech, 23 miles from King's Lynn and 29 miles from Peterborough.


The Role


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Factory Manager (Bakery) to join our Bakkavor Pizza Holbeach site. Reporting into the Head of Site Operations the successful candidate will lead the factory operation in a safe and technically compliant manner, delivering against our Vision, Business Strategy, Financial targets and Customer expectations. The focus of the Interim Bakery Factory Manager will be to lead and drive; upcoming Projects (Waste Reduction and Automated Stuff Crust), continuous improvements and efficiencies and to develop our current team, that results in the safe and efficient production of chilled pizzas.

Key Accountabilities:


  • To ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees in their operation and that as a minimum their area meets the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy.
  • To ensure standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and housekeeping within their factory operation appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
  • Inputs, understands and translates the manufacturing strategy into a ‘living’ Factory Operational Plan which is clearly understood and owned by their team.
  • Manages the NPD process within their factory operation to ensure that all trials run successfully and through to product launch.
  • Owns training and development and performance management of individuals within their factory operation to enable progression to resource growth or to replace current roles, and to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all levels.
  • Utilise appropriate agreed KPIs as a basis for the development of Performance Improvement Plans within the Factory Operation and cascade these KPIs through the Factory Operational Team, ensuring that they are translated and used at all levels.
  • Support and develop a culture within their factory operation where individuals feel able to challenge the status quo and encourage feedback from all levels. Support and implement change processes within their area in line with Bakkavor values.
  • Proactively looks at ways to improve their factory operation. A key player in delivering the agreed factory capital expenditure plans within the agreed factory budget.



Required skills & experience:

  • ‘Sheet and Cut’ experience is preferred
  • Previous experience working in a Bakery Production Environment is essential
  • Previous ‘Pizza Dough’ or ‘Bread’ experience
  • Excellent people skills
  • Proactive Manager with strong organisational skills
