The Role


Working as part of a team of 4 the Development and Alumni Relations Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR). In addition to working with the alumni community you would also be part of the Development Trust team.


The main duties of the role include:

  • Design and deliver an alumni engagement and stewardship programme to support the alumni and supporter engagement strategy.
  • Working with the DDAR and the alumni community to create and maintain an engaging Alumni network and platform, presenting opportunities for alumni to connect with each other and the University.
  • Effectively and proactively supporting the delivery of annual income, creating cases for support and a variety of fundraising products.
  • Supporting the delivery of the trust and foundations income and partnership strategy in accordance with the University’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Leading on the research to build a trusts and foundations portfolio and to manage this effectively.
  • Writing high-quality funding applications, and working with the DDAR across all stages of cultivation.
  • Aiming to secure unrestricted funding, and contributing to increasing the impact and visibility of philanthropy by establishing a culture of philanthropy.
  • Ensuring appropriate stewardship of current donors and liaising with external stakeholders.
  • Leading the effective delivery of Alumni events, and support activities of the wider DAR Team as required (which may include working flexibly)
  • Working with creative design and brand teams to produce high-quality invitations, brochures, presentations and videos.
