Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented, passionate Chef to design and implement our menus, both for our existing deli and our new cafe in the heart of Ludlow. The successful candidate will oversee all kitchen operations, manage food production, and ensure creative, exciting dishes are served in our new cafe. Unusually, the working hours are predominantly Monday to Friday, with only very occasional weekend and evening working.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement new, seasonal menus for our cafe
- create new dishes for our deli counter
- Supervise staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as required
- Manage kitchen budget, controlling costs without compromising on quality
- Collaborate with the deli manager to design seasonal menus and dishes, and special events

Skills:
- Experience in a professional kitchen environment
- A passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Knowledge of food hygiene practices and health and safety regulations
- Creativity in menu planning and dish preparation
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise with staff and management

There is some flexibility with working hours for the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
