Responsibilities:
  • Support the procurement team in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting vendors, comparing prices, quality, and delivery timelines to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Assist in managing and updating the procurement database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on suppliers, contracts, and pricing.
  • Coordinate with various internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure smooth procurement processes and timely delivery of materials.
  • Assist in resolving any issues or disputes with suppliers, actively seeking solutions to maintain good working relationships.

Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a procurement or administrative role, preferably within the construction industry or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining procurement records and documentation.
  • Excellent organisational skills to effectively prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software or systems is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of procurement principles, supplier management, and purchasing processes.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry-specific procurement practices is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
