An exciting opportunity for someone with agricultural sales experience to transition into livestock procurement at one of the UK's leading meat producers.

As a Livestock Buyer your role will be focused on procuring your quota of cattle and sheep required by the abattoir each week.

To be successful in this role you will need to be an effective communicator who can build relationships with suppliers and negotiate the purchase of their livestock. Additionally, you'll need to be driven, well organised and able to meet procurement targets.

To be considered for this position you must have strong knowledge of commercial beef/sheep farming. Full training and support will be provided.

The role:

  • Build and maintain relationships with farmers and suppliers
  • Cattle grading
  • Negotiate purchase prices
  • Ensure consistent supply of cattle in line with procurement targets
  • Visit farms/suppliers
  • Ensure livestock deliveries are on schedule

About you:

  • Excellent understanding of beef/sheep production
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised and able to work under pressure
  • Target driven
  • UK driving licence
