About The Role

Compass Community Schools are an established community of schools passionately supporting the therapeutic education of pupils with a wide range of special educational needs.

Due to expansion we are looking for an experienced and aspirational Regional Director for our South region to join our enthusiastic and welcoming team. You will need to be an inspiring and nurturing leader who can drive for success and high quality.

The Regional Director will be central to achieving continual improvement both in their region and nationally, inspiring and supporting schools to be excellent education environments for vulnerable and complex learners. The Regional Director will need to demonstrate exceptionally strong leadership, a strong understanding of school improvement and safeguarding. They will need to have high expectations of practice and be passionate about supporting our school community to be the best that it can be.

The successfully appointed Regional Director will be supported by a wider community of highly dedicated professionals and the central leadership team whose practice is always child centred. The role will report to the Senior Director and the proprietary board.

The Regional Director will be resilient, ambitious, with a deep desire to drive and sustain improvement. They will thrive under pressure, be solution focused and reflective. They will share the Compass Community Schools vision to create exceptional schools improving lives through the power of learning.

Safeguarding

Compass Community Schools are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau) and undergo due diligence checks on social media use.

All school-based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children. All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
