Role description:
Arcadis are excited to again be growing their Nuclear team. We are looking for talented Nuclear Safety professionals of all levels to join our team to work on delivering a wide range of nuclear safety cases. The energy landscape as we know it is rapidly transforming; generating and processing enough clean energy is a big challenge to assist with the world’s Net Carbon Zero needs. We have projects and programmes both in the UK and also overseas for interested candidates.

The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:
You will lead production of nuclear safety cases in accordance with client requirements and cultivate insights and solutions, and innovate our service offering with clients and within Arcadis. You will also positively lead and engage with the SHE agenda and to embrace diversity, inclusion, and well-being in the working environment.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a project team including subcontractors, ensuring that this work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilised. You will manage the production of, and quality assure project deliverables to ensure that these meet or exceed client expectations and Arcadis requirements and comply with national standards and codes of practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline
Membership of an appropriate professional institution/society is preferable
Strong appropriate values and behaviours including integrity, client success, persuasive skills, and the ability to build rapport
Breadth and depth of experience working on nuclear safety cases for site licence companies, including new build, existing operational facilities and those in waste management & decommissioning
Good understanding of, and experience of applying:
Hazard Identification
Radiological Consequence Assessment of Potential Accidents
Design Basis Analysis and Probabilistic Safety Assessment (quantitative and qualitative)
Safety-designation and safety case implementation
Use of bounding cases
Nuclear safety hierarchy, the ALARP principle and optimization
