Senior Business Analyst - Insurance - BI - Data - Analytics
 
Role Description
 
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team and play a crucial role in driving our data and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the insurance industry and expertise in developing and implementing business intelligence (BI) and advanced data analytics solutions. This role will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, eliciting requirements, managing backlogs, and ensuring the successful delivery of data-driven projects.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Gather and analyze business requirements for data and analytics projects, including BI tools, data warehousing, and advanced analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable requirements
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, and process flows
  • Manage project backlogs, prioritize user stories, and facilitate sprint planning sessions using agile methodologies
  • Ensure the successful implementation of data and analytics solutions by working closely with development teams and providing subject matter expertise
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and ensure the delivered solutions meet business requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the data and analytics space
  • Support other business/technology projects as needed
 
Key Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on data and analytics projects in the insurance industry
  • Proven experience in eliciting and documenting business requirements for BI and advanced analytics solutions
  • Proficient in data modeling, data visualization, and data mining techniques
  • Hands-on experience with agile methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business problems into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of relevant data and analytics tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R (preferred)
