General Foreman

We're looking for a General Foreman to join our Kier Transportation rail team and help assist on our prestigious Oxford Station project.

 

Location: Oxford Station

Business Area: Kier Transportation, Rail

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

 

What will your responsibilities be?

As a General Foreman, you'll be working within the Kier Transportation team, supporting the team in enhancing the rail corridor between Didcot (to the south) and Banbury, Leamington, and Birmingham (to the north), to allow more trains to run throughout this ‘spine' route, more efficiently. Your role as General Foreman is to ensure Project and Corporate Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality procedures, and standards are implemented, maintained, and communicated to the workforce. Ensure all site resources (labour, machinery, materials, sub-contractors) are effectively utilised and monitored to achieve completion of projects on time and within budgetary constraints.

What will your day to day duties include?

  • Deliver work packages to agreed programmes and liaise with operational delivery teams.
  • Oversee the co-ordination of operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers in your section of works in a planned and controlled manner ensuring efficiency and minimising costs.
  • Implementing safe systems of work for site activities, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and welfare are maintained.
  • Ensure the project is safely delivered on time, to budget and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures through the construction period.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in a similar role within the highways and rail sector.
  • SMSTS, First Aid, PTS and CSCS are essential.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety.
