Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team as a Senior Speech Therapist. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, child-centred care for children with speech, language, and communication needs. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and creating tailored treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, child-centred care for children on a community SLT caseload across a variety of settings, including Family Hubs, nurseries, homes, and schools.
  • Lead and support the preschool and school-age SLT teams, including therapists, assistants, and students, while contributing to service development and meeting performance targets.
  • Provide specialist clinical expertise, training, and advice to colleagues, carers, and professionals, ensuring a coordinated and holistic approach to children's speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Assess, diagnose, and create tailored treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers, ensuring cultural and linguistic considerations.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC).
  • Health and Care Professions Council Licence to Practice (HCPC).
  • Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
  • Member of relevant Clinical Excellence Network.
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate training, internal or external.
