Job description
The Digital Delivery team at HMCTS is redesigning and rebuilding our Courts and Tribunal services around the needs of our users – ensuring our services are accessible, easy to use, digital (where necessary and appropriate) and well supported for all users.
Within Digital Delivery, the User-Centred Design team works with HMCTS projects and programmes to support our core design principle of being user-led in everything we do.
As a Content Designer, you’ll work closely in your team with service and interaction designers as well as user researchers and analysts to deliver accessible, inclusive, and user-centred services. You will own the content and its quality throughout a user’s journey and be experienced in using evidence, data and research to back up your decisions.

Key Responsibilities
· Be responsible for content quality as the content lead within your project or service, working within multidisciplinary teams.
· Develop and contribute to content strategies to help digital services meet both business and user needs.
· Lead on publishing guidance content to the GOV.
UK website, building long-term relationships with stakeholders.
· Initiate content improvements and influence decisions using data and evidence.
· Champion accessibility and inclusion, making sure content meets WCAG 2.2 accessibility requirements.
· Scope, create and improve user-centred content based on user feedback, research and data.
· Manage and support other content designers, sharing good practice to improve quality and consistency across content.
· Engage with, and contribute to, the HMCTS and cross-government content design communities. Skills &

Experience:
· Design content for end-to-end services from concept to delivery, being responsible for content quality
· Influence decisions, dealing with challenging situations and removing blockers to make sure content is user-centred, usable and accessible
· Apply content standards and style guidelines to your work and supporting other content designers to make sure design standards are met
· Implement content strategies and evaluating their impact to make sure user needs and business objectives are met
· Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
· Make complex language and processes easy to understand
· Build long-term, strategic stakeholder relationships Essential Criteria:
· Experience of creating and improving content to meet user needs, being responsible for developing clear and accessible content to communicate complex issues
· Experience contributing to content strategies or identifying content solutions to meet both user needs and business objectives
· Experience managing and influencing stakeholders, using data and insights to support content decisions
· A demonstrable understanding of end-to-end journeys and experience of identifying where journey fixes or content improvements need to be made
· Strong editing skillsDesirable Criteria:
· You’re an active member of a design community, actively networking with others and contributing to ways of working and community activities such as content critiques
· You’re familiar with the criteria used on GDS service assessments.
