Location: This role could be based in either our London, Wythall or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.
Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process. Up to £115,000 dependant upon experience plus an indicative bonus range of 30%-60%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.
This is a key role within the Balance Sheet Oversight team that sits within the Line 2 Financial Risk team. The Balance Sheet Oversight team supports the Financial Risk Director in ensuring the effectiveness of financial risk management across the Group. Responsibilities of the team encompass oversight of liquidity and capital management, climate risk (sustainability) and with-profits management. The team also develops and embeds of the Group's Risk Appetite Framework and Stress & Scenario Testing Framework, leads on the financial risk assessment within the ORSA and coordinates Recovery and Resolution planning.
This is an amazing opportunity for you to contribute to key business decisions critical to our Group strategy, such as the Strategic Business Plan and Dividend & Funding decisions, and to shape the risk framework and oversight approach to support the robustness and financial resilience of the balance sheet.
Liquidity Risk Management: Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation and embedding of an effective liquidity risk management framework for the Group and Life Companies. This includes the review of framework developments, driving forward continuous improvements in liquidity stress & scenario testing, and review of ongoing liquidity management activities. Underpinned by a deep understanding of our financial resilience, balance sheet dynamics, risk drivers and our risk appetite.
- Provide effective challenge and support informed decision making on key proposals that materially affect the Group's financial risk profile, including the strategic business plan, funding strategy and dividend proposals.
- Financial Resilience: Contribute to the delivery of an effective ORSA report and Recovery and Resolution Plans, including the design and implementation of an effective stress testing programme for the Group, and review and challenge of stress testing results and assumed management actions.
A qualified actuary with strong liquidity risk management experience (this is a key requirement for the role).
- Financial risk and capital risk management experience.
- Experience of effective leadership including excellent communication skills, demonstrable experience of building solid working relationships and experience reporting and presenting at senior management / executive level.
- Drive and flexibility to undertake a wide range of projects / activities simultaneously. Track record of delivery of quality product / service within budget / timescale.
