Tasks

As Team Leader for Prevention Services you will lead on planning, coordinating and
implementing a programme of outstanding delivery. You will be responsible for managing and inspiring a team of Youth Support Workers to plan, deliver, evaluate, programmes of work from two youth centres and to grow a high quality programme of prevention services across Totton and Waterside.

Ideally you will have a proven ability to offer high-quality leadership, management and support to both teams and individuals.
This role requires a confident and creative individual with experience of youth work who is able to adapt sessions to a variety of environments including public outdoor spaces, youth clubs and community outreach sessions.

Regular evening and occasional weekend working will be required

Requirements

Qualifications:
Minimum Level 3 qualification in relevant subject (Youth and Community, IAG etc)
Experience:
Working with children and young people including those who are vulnerable or at risk
Experience of delivering detached youth work, centre-based sessions and 1:1 support to children and young people
Leading and/or managing a team
Working with outside agencies in a positive and professional manner
Knowledge:
Understanding of youth work theory and principles
Understanding of the diverse needs of socially excluded children and young people and the issues that lead to social exclusion
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
Understanding of the principles and practices of equality and diversity
