Senior Platform Engineer | Azure, Terraform, CI/CD | Bank-Grade Cloud Platform Build£600–£650 p/d (Outside IR35)5-month initial contract (extensions likely)Hybrid: London (2 days/week on-site)The RoleJoin a newly formed Cloud Platform Engineering team building a greenfield Azure platform for a regulated banking venture. You’ll join as a senior individual contributor, taking ownership of the most complex, high-risk platform engineering work across a large Azure estate in a regulated financial services environment.This is not a people management role — you’ll lead through your code, your technical judgement, and your ability to turn ambitious platform designs into secure, scalable, production-ready infrastructure.You will:Own and deliver the highest-risk, most complex or ambiguous platform workBuild and enhance Azure landing zones and internal platform servicesDeliver infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, self-service tooling and observability end-to-endChallenge design assumptions with a “show me the code” approachPair with engineers to unblock delivery and lift team-wide engineering standardsNon-Negotiables: 8+ years infrastructure engineering in Azure environmentsTerraform expertise at scale: modules, composition, patterns and anti-patternsStrong Azure networking, security and governance knowledgeExperience in regulated environments (FS, healthcare, government, etc.)CI/CD and automation experience (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, scripting)Ability to troubleshoot complex infra, identity, networking and security issuesTDD/automated testing for infrastructure changesExperience mentoring and guiding other engineersWhat You’ll Work With:Terraform: modular IaC, policy integration, testing and validationAzure Core: networking, security, identity, governance, landing zonesAzure PaaS: App Service, Functions, container platforms (ACA/AKS)CI/CD: GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps with full automationObservability: logging, metrics, dashboards and alertingIncident Response: diagnosing and resolving complex platform issuesWhy Join:Shape a secure, scalable Azure platform in a regulated financial services environmentOwn complex landing zones and platform capabilities that have organisation-wide impactInfluence engineering standards, patterns and delivery practicesWork in a collaborative, Kanban-driven team focused on high-quality deliveryLead through hands-on engineering, pairing and code reviews — not hierarchyIf you enjoy solving deep technical problems, shipping high-quality infrastructure, and elevating engineering teams through hands-on expertise, this role will suit you perfectly.Senior Platform Engineer | Azure, Terraform, CI/CD | Bank-Grade Cloud Platform Build
