Mechanical Fitter Gloucester Full time Permanent Dayshift Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Fitter The role is to ensure assemblies are manufactured correctly to specification and on time. • To fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawing. • To accurately fit sub assembly parts using engineering drawings. • Use hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components. • Use pillar drills, deburring tools and grinding wheels safely where necessary. • Use engineering measuring equipment where necessary to ensure components are to specification. • Drill and tap components when necessary. • Ensure all torque requirements are met and marked as per procedure. • Fit / pipe pneumatic and water circuits using either copper or plastic pipe work. • Strip / prepare machines and tooling for painting and despatch. • Install machines at customer sites as necessary overseas. • Ensure safe systems of work are always adhered to and ensure any issues are reported immediately to management. • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and stored safely. • Ensure all non-conforming parts or design issues are reported in a timely manner using NCR/ECR forms.
