We are seeking a Design Engineer (Protection & Control) to join our expanding team and support a wide range of complex engineering projects contributing to the UK's Net Zero ambitions. Our work spans the full energy system - from generation, transmission, distribution, and storage to end-use industrial applications.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork, high-quality project delivery, and the ability to leverage professional networks for insight, collaboration, and new opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Senior Engineers/Team Leads in effective project delivery.Design Protection & Control / SCADA / Substation Automation systems from 11kV to 400kV using AutoCAD, including:Single Line DiagramsAC/DC schematicsPanel GA and wiring drawingsSwitchgear terminations/interconnectionsCable schedules and sizing calculationsProduce specifications and P&C logic drawings for substations (11kV-400kV).Familiarity with PSL logic and relay setting files.Work across both greenfield and brownfield substations.Collaborate with designers, construction teams, and engineering colleagues.Follow project plans and pathways set by senior staff.Build strong working relationships internally and externally.Ensure delivery within time, budget, and quality expectations.Provide technical support and respond to site queries, TQs, RFIs, etc.Maintain clear communication and effective prioritisation.Uphold SHEQ standards and company quality processes.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field (2:1 or above preferred).
