Perform was launched in 2000 as a new kind of drama school with child development at its heart. The founders, Will Barnett and Lucy Quick, both had a passion for the performing arts and wanted to create a unique organisation to help build children’s self-esteem and life skills.


With ‘Confidence Building Fun’ as its strapline, Perform uses the performing arts to boost children’s confidence. Classes for 4-7s and 7-12s use specially designed activities alongside drama, dance and singing, each with the aim of developing the 4 Cs – confidence, concentration, communication and coordination.


There are over 600 Perform classes running each week in over 300 venues – across London, the South East, South West and Nottingham.


REQUIREMENTS:


We are looking for a graduate with proven experience as a Social Media Executive or in a professional communications role for a brand or agency.


To be successful in this role, you should have a solid understanding of current social media trends and best practices, with technical proficiency across platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter).


You should be able to lead social media campaigns from concept to completion, with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Creativity, a keen eye for design and detail, and IT proficiency are essential, as is a high standard of written English. An understanding of arts marketing or marketing to parents would be advantageous but is not essential.


The Content Marketing Executive will join a small team and will report directly to the Marketing Director.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


STRATEGY


  • Develop and execute on-brand social media strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement, in line with the overall marketing strategy
  • Ensure that activity is integrated with and supported by our online and offline communications
  • With the support of the wider marketing team, create a content strategy that encompasses social media, website and email communications


SOCIAL MEDIA AND INFLUENCER MARKETING


  • Plan and execute all social media activities
  • Manage and maintain our social media platforms, ensuring they are up-to-date, consistent, and aligned with Perform’s brand identity
  • Develop and produce monthly content calendars in line with Perform’s brand pillars and the wider class calendar
  • Curate and create engaging, on-trend, shareable content, including Reels and other video formats
  • Upload content to the scheduling platform and handle community management
  • Identify influencers and develop an influencer program
  • Measure and report on the performance of all social media campaigns, providing regular insights and analysis
  • Identify trends and insights, optimising campaigns based on data
  • Actively monitor emerging social media and cultural trends to ensure Perform’s content remains innovative and competitive
  • Look for new and creative growth strategies and test new ideas


CONTENT CREATION


  • Deliver top-notch content for Perform’s organic channels, with a focus on being audience-centric
  • When required, work with the wider marketing team to brief external photographers and videographers to produce content
  • Become a brand expert and develop a deep understanding of the Perform brand and target audience
  • Understand the Perform class calendar to create timely, relevant content
  • Liaise with Perform Area Partners and Producers to schedule visits to classes to film/photograph live sessions, ensuring staff and parental consents are completed
  • Shape copy and content to feel uniquely Perform and ensure consistency across our channels
  • Manage the digital content library, ensuring easy access and organisation of assets


DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS


  • Copywriting for various platforms, ensuring the tone is aligned with Perform’s brand voice
  • Regularly update the Perform website with new and relevant brand content, finding engaging ways to bring the Perform experience to life
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to create and schedule engaging content within our email communications


QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:



  • Proven experience in social media management and professional communications
  • Excellent copywriting skills and a creative outlook
  • Ability to combine proactive planning and organisational techniques with an agile approach
  • Technical understanding of social media platforms for business use
  • Experience with content creation, community management, and PR is a plus
