The focus of this role is to deliver a world-class service in a fast-paced environment to delight our customers and grow our business. The Engineering function is key to the success and continued improvement of our site this role youll be responsible for coordinating and conducting all routine preventive and reactive asset maintenance to ensure safe operation and equipment reliability to meet production demands. You will ensure work is completed safely according to company and legislative standards to the required quality and workmanship in the time allotted. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Were looking for a candidate who has a genuine interest in people with well-developed listening and communication skills with a proactive approach and strong prioritisation skills. You will be comfortable working as part of a team and happy to muck in when needed.This role operates Monday to Friday on a 24/5 shift patternRole Responsibilities:Ensuring all site manufacturing and equipment is fully compliant with respect to technical safety legislation testing and inspectionsTracking analysing and reporting asset reliability performance and issues to identify maintenance and equipment improvement needsLeading on asset and equipment technical issues resolution through fault finding and problem solving with the support of manufacturing resources OEMs and contract service providersIdentification of critical spares ordering and maintaining inventory to agreed stock levelsMaintaining site and equipment housekeeping in compliance to agreed standardsSupporting capital project plans including site preparation work equipment installation and commissioning technical training and planning and scheduling of asset life-cycle plans.Site capital project lead with responsibility for all aspects of project delivery supported by Group EngineeringHands on technical support for site improvement initiativesPerson Specification:Fully qualified Electrical or Mechanical engineer accredited to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or BTEC.Evidence of PPM implementation delivery and controlMust have a demonstrable background in a Maintenance environmentContinuous Improvement/Operational Excellence training e.g.5S Lean Manufacturing Root Cause Problem Solving techniques.Experience in a fast-paced multi-shift manufacturing environment.Experience of using SAP is an advantageComfortable using Microsoft packages such as ExcelAbility to handle purchasing stock control and supplier communication and correspondence via a variety of business systemsWhat we can offer you:Competitive salaryQualifying Sick Pay schemePension scheme & Life insuranceShare Save schemeIncome Protection25 days holiday plus Bank HolidaysEmployee Assistance ProgrammeVirtual GP Occupational Health & free Flu vaccineCycle to Work and shopping discountsWe are DS Smith together with International Paper we are a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and other fibre-based believe a better more sustainable tomorrow is possible with the right people who challenge and support one another to enact positive change.
