Fenwick is seeking an experienced Head of Financial Controls to join our Finance function for up to 12 months while covering Maternity Leave.


As a key partner to the Executive team, you will oversee the Financial Operational function, ensuring the effective maintenance of internal controls, governance, and accurate financial reporting.


This pivotal role will involve close collaboration with the Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, external auditors, HMRC, banks, and credit insurers to maintain financial integrity and compliance.

We offer a salary of up to £110k dependant on experience.

As the Head of Financial Controls at Fenwick, you will oversee the accuracy and timely delivery of management reports, including the Balance Sheet and P&L. You will ensure that year-end audits and the preparation of statutory accounts are completed within set deadlines, maintaining high standards of financial reporting and governance.


You will also manage the Treasury function, including cash flow forecasting, ensuring efficient financial operations and identifying areas for improvement within the company's financial systems and processes. Your ability to spot opportunities for system and process enhancements will be key to driving operational efficiencies.


In this dynamic role, you'll have the chance to contribute to ad hoc projects as needed, applying your expertise to a wide range of financial challenges. You’ll play an integral role in supporting the company’s financial health during this 12-month fixed-term maternity cover.


What we are looking for in a candidate...


  • Experienced Financial Controller that is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software (ideally D365 and Cognos experience)
