SUMMARY OF THE ROLEThe Trainee Field Engineer will work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to carry out preventative maintenance repairs and installations of suspended access and height safety equipment. The role includes training on troubleshooting emergency breakdowns working with customers and complying with health and safety regulations. Over time the trainee will develop the skills necessary to work independently within the field.OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIESTechnical Learning & DevelopmentUnder supervision assist in servicing maintaining and repairing height safety equipment including:Technical Learning & DevelopmentFall Arrest and Life Safety LinesEyebolts - fall restraint and abseilGantries and walkwaysGuardrailsLadders - fixed and portableGeneral lifting equipment- Follow company training programs to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.- Shadow senior engineers to gain a deep understanding of troubleshooting and repair techniques.- Ensure compliance with British Standards and health and safety regulations.Customer EngagementLearn how to communicate effectively with customers addressing inquiries and providing updates on work progress.Assist in reporting additional work required following inspections or maintenance tasks.Maintain a professional and positive company image at all times.Site Surveys and ReportingAssist in site surveys accurately recording all relevant information.Support the team by documenting findings and communicating them to the line manager.Customer CareEnsure High Levels of Customer Satisfaction: Strive for excellence in customer satisfaction by consistently meeting or exceeding their expectations.Professional Representation: Uphold the companys image by representing it in a professional manner at all times fostering positive interactions with customers.Order ManagementHelp compile service reports and communicate findings clearly to customers.Ensure all required information is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner onto the Simpro Software Application.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEEssentialWillingness to learn and develop within an engineering role.Ability to work at heights.Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.A full clean UK driving license (or working towards obtaining one).DesirablePrevious experience in a hands-on role (construction electrical mechanical or similar).Basic engineering knowledge or qualifications.An interest in height safety equipment and working at heights.Training and DevelopmentFull training will be provided including classroom-based and on-the-job learning.Opportunity to gain certifications in working at height safety standards.Career progression opportunities into a fully qualified Field Engineer role.The Trainee Field Engineer plays a vital role in the success of the engineering team by maintaining strong communication channels managing customer expectations and ensuring the efficient execution of projects.
