We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Microservices Engineer to join our dynamic team in Belfast. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable microservices applications. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy microservices using Java and related technologies
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to define system architecture and design patterns
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to best practices
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Java and microservices trends


Requirements

  • Proven experience in Java development with a strong understanding of core Java concepts
  • Expertise in designing and developing microservices architectures using Spring Boot or similar frameworks
  • Proficiency in RESTful API development and integration
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • A passion for learning new technologies and solving complex challenges


Desired Skills

  • Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of cloud-native development principles
