Red Sky Personnel is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a B1 Licensed Engineer to join our prestigious client in the aviation industry. In this key role, you will be responsible for certifying the maintenance and repair of Airbus rotorcraft, including the AS350, AS355 Series, AS365, EC120, EC130, EC135, EC145, and EC155.

This is a hands-on role, requiring a highly skilled professional with a Part 66 Licence in B1.3 (Turbine Rotorcraft), capable of working to the highest safety standards. You'll have the chance to lead a team while contributing to the continued safe operation of these sophisticated aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and certify maintenance: Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Compliance with UK CAA regulations: Ensure all work is performed according to UK CAA Part 145, Part M, and UK ANO requirements.
  • Aircraft systems maintenance: Handle maintenance tasks across airframe structures, powerplants, and mechanical/electrical systems, including the replacement of avionic line-replaceable units and conducting simple serviceability tests.
  • Team leadership: Supervise maintenance fitters, certify their work, and act as a leader in the maintenance team.
  • Hangar operations: Assist in day-to-day hangar duties, including aircraft movements and general housekeeping responsibilities to maintain operational efficiency.


Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Technical expertise: Comprehensive understanding of aircraft engine and airframe systems, as well as specialised test equipment.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Thorough understanding of UK CAA regulations, especially Part 145 and Part M, is essential.
  • Teamwork and independence: Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the company and customer requirements, ensuring operational excellence.


Education, Qualifications, and Training

  • Part 66 B1.3 Licence: Required for this certifying role.
  • Candidates without a licence but with extensive aircraft maintenance experience who are working towards certification will also be considered.
  • Rotary experience: Prior experience in a rotary environment is essential. Type-specific training will be provided for the right candidate.


Additional Requirements

  • Security clearance: DBS Security Clearance and eligibility for SC clearance are required due to the nature of the position.
  • Compliance: Applicants must meet ITAR and Export Compliance Regulations.
  • Travel: Occasional travel within the UK or abroad may be required to support business needs.
