Commercial Manager

We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide essential support to the Divisional Manager and project team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within stipulated timeframes, budget, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will excel in:
- Maximizing project success and commercial control to achieve optimal returns through timely submission of monthly applications.
- Managing projects by accurately forecasting and controlling costs.
- Taking responsibility for commercial reporting on assigned contracts, including forecasting and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), where applicable.
- Ensuring projects adhere to legal and quality standards outlined in contract documents.
- Conducting client meetings to understand their needs, discuss revisions for pricing or feasibility, and secure farming opportunities.
- Producing and presenting monthly commercial reports and Works in Progress (WIP) review meetings to senior stakeholders.
- Providing necessary commercial details and information to support the Divisional and Contract Manager.
- Managing the supply chain effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate should possess:
- Demonstrated experience with a main contractor, focusing on commercial roles within repairs/disrepairs contracts in the social housing sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of measurement and valuation, including the use of Schedules of Rates.
- Strong commercial acumen to maximize value recovery and control costs.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Proficiency in IT, including internal cost systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in managing and enhancing internal and external customer relationships, with conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, proactive mindset, and positive 'can-do' attitude.
