But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.At the moment this role is focused on:Lead a team dedicated to building scaling and enhancing systems that improve our ability to detect and response to security threats.Act as a technical leader using engineering expertise to guide project direction and execution.Coach and mentor team members to support their growth and capability.Ensure detection logging and automation systems remain top-tier within a polyglot cloud-native environment across a variety of tech stacks.Balance delivering technical outcomes with cultivating a high-performing collaborative team culture globally.Collaborate closely with members across the Detection & Response (D&R) team the wider security group and product engineering teams.Youre probably a match ifYou have a strong engineering background with proven experience driving technical outcomes that strengthen detection and response capabilities in a high paced global environment.You bring hands-on experience in incident response detection engineering logging and alerting pipelines and custom security automations.You have experience delivering and maintaining detection and response capabilities in cloud-native environments (e.g. AWS GCP).You can showcase the ability to balance people leadership with technical decision-making including guiding teams through complex projects and necessary trade-offs whilst continuing to support each individuals growth goals.You possess strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with security engineering and product teams.Beneficial Experience (not required but helpful)Knowledge and experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and containerized environmentsSound knowledge of forensic fundamentals and investigation techniquesBackground of sustained success in high growth startup environmentAbout the teamThe Security Group is responsible for protecting Canva systems and data from information security threats. Our teams work together and with other groups to deliver preventive and detective controls and processes that reduce security risk. The group runs programs across Enterprise Security Application Security Risk Management and Threat Detection and Response domains.
