Overview

On behalf of a long-standing client, we are seeking a Housekeeper / Cook for their weekend residence, a rural location near Newbury.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the Housekeeper/Cook near Newbury include:

  • All general housekeeping duties (with assistance from a local part time cleaner)
  • Laundry
  • Home cooking for the family at weekends
  • Running errands when required
  • Occasional driving for school runs etc (car provided for work use)
  • Overseeing the work of contractors
  • Managing shoot parties (approx. 7 weekends per year)
  • Overseeing procurement of household goods
Candidates must be/have:
  • A fluent English speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A full, clean, driving licence
  • Knowledgeable on a wide range of areas related to the role
  • Efficient, discrete, and organised
  • Comfortable working within a rural location
  • Child friendly The family have two children aged 13 & 15
Accommodation

A three-bedroom house in the village.

Hours

The family are in residence at weekends during term-time. When the family are in residence the successful candidate will work Thursday Monday. The usual working hours on weekdays will be 09:00 17:00 but flexibility will be required at weekends.

Location

Near Newbury, RG20.

Salary

Up to £40,000. For local candidates, a live-out option with a salary of up to £50,000 dependent upon prior experience would also be considered.
