Do you have experience in working with pupils with challenging behaviour? Do you have a passion for delivering sports? Are you able to inspire pupils to learn?Empowering Learning are working alongside a secondary school in the Lincoln area who are looking to appoint a Sports and Learning Mentor to work across KS3 and KS4. The role is full time and initially on a fixed term contract starting ASAP. The role has the potential to become permanent for the right person. The hours of work are 8:30-4:00 and working days are Monday to Friday. The main duties within this role will be: Working closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviourLeading sports sessions at break and lunchtimesProviding 1:1 support to children in class Using sports as a way to mentor childrenDe-escalating situations where children have showed extreme behavioursLeading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels Assisting the class teacher with the set up of lessons Liaising with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of the pupils The school are looking for someone who: Holds a TA qualification or relevant degreeHolds at least one sports based qualificationHas had either TeamTeach training or MAPA Training (Desirable not essential)Previously supported children with challenging behavioursHas an understanding of supporting SEN pupils Can inspire pupils to reach their full potential Empowering Learning is a trusted education recruitment agency committed to connecting talented educators with rewarding opportunities.
