Immediate need for an experienced General Counsel to join a busy major, complex engineering project on an initial 6 month contract basis. This is a strategic General Counsel, taking an active role as part of the senior leadership team leading a large legal and company secretariat function. Potential to go permanent, London or Midlands based. Day rate Inside IR35. AVAILABILITY TO COMMENCE FROM DEC 1 IS ESSENTIALResponsibilities will include:Management of the legal and company secretariat team (c25 headcount)Providing all legal services to the business and project including major engineering works and complex property acquisition programmeExtensive liaison with JV and project partners including public sector bodiesDelivering of legal advice in relation to commercial contracts, procurement, property, and litigationManaging the external law firm panel and budgetTaking an active role as part of the leadership teamTo be considered for this opportunity you will have extensive experience at General Counsel level in a similar capacity, preferably from a major projects, engineering, heavy industry background.
