Position Summary:

As the Home Networking Product Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of our networking products through comprehensive testing and analysis. You will play a critical role in testing and validation of various devices, including 4G and 5G mobile routers, WiFi mesh systems, powerline adapters, WiFi repeaters, and routers. Additionally, this position will entail handling support emails from end-users, providing timely and effective responses to address their inquiries and technical issues.The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and standards, with a focus on wireless (WiFi) and cellular (4G/5G) technologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases to validate the functionality, performance, and interoperability of home networking products.
  • Conduct hands-on testing of networking devices across different environments and scenarios to identify and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, performance, and compatibility.
  • Configure and maintain test environments, including network infrastructure, equipment, and software, to support ongoing testing activities. Utilize network testing tools and equipment to analyze network traffic and measure performance metrics. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, and software engineering to communicate test results, prioritize issues, and drive resolution.
  • Respond to support emails from end-users in a timely and professional manner, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance to resolve their product and networking issues effectively.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in networking standards to ensure our products meet the latest requirements and specifications.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in product testing, and hands-on experience with configuring and testing a variety of networking devices, including 4G and 5G mobile routers, WiFi mesh systems, powerline adapters, WiFi repeaters, and traditional routers.
  • Extensive knowledge of wireless networking technologies and standards, including IEEE 802.11 protocols (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), WiFi security protocols (WPA/WPA2/WPA3), WPS, and advanced features like Easy Mesh, beamforming and MU-MIMO.
  • In-depth understanding of OSI model layers, network topologies, Internet Protocol (IP) networking, including IP addressing, subnetting, routing protocols and common IP services like DHCP, DNS, and NAT. Familiarity with network security principles, including authentication, encryption, access control, as well as experience in configuring and testing network security features such as firewalls, VPNs, and content filtering.
  • Proficient in testing methodologies and tools specific to networking, such as packet analyzers (e.g., Wireshark), and network performance measurement tools (e.g., Iperf).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users.
