Job Description – Groundsman Title Groundsman ReportingHead GroundsmanProfile and Qualities The Assistant Head Groundsman will possess the following attributes, among others:Qualities to facilitate a successful transition to the Head Groundsman role in the futureSelf-motivatedProactive with a hands-on approachStrong interest in the development of the groundsMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience within a reputable organizationProficient manager of both people and situations with strong leadership skillsAbility to take on responsibility and make prompt, accurate decisionsLogical and detail-oriented with a rational mindsetUnlikely to be younger than 25 years oldKnowledgeable in horticulture, turf management, and irrigation systemsCertified at NVQ Level 3, preferably Level 4, or hold an HND in a related fieldPossess PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying licensesAdditional qualifications like a tractor license, health and safety certification, chainsaw operation, and first aid training are desirableValid driver's licenseProficient in using computersPrincipal ResponsibilitiesAssist the grounds maintenance department at Smith’s Lawn during the polo season as directed by the Head GroundsmanOther Responsibilities Key RelationshipsHead GroundsmanChief ExecutivePolo Manager
