What Are We Looking For?


Our in-house design team is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our business based in our Inverness office. You will be joining an established, multi-disciplinary design team where you will be involved in all aspects of projects from scoping and detailed design right through to implementation. RSE continue to enjoy strong success in the market and through our strongest asset, our People, we are looking to further our place in the market.


Some Of Your Key Duties Include


  • Liaise with Engineers and Managers in producing 3D Models and CAD drawings.
  • Compile design specifications.
  • Analysis of components and assemblies for stress and deflection both using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Complete required deliverables within allocated project time scales.
  • Comply with company quality assurance procedures.
  • Liaise with Clients and suppliers.
  • Maintain CAD library.


What Do You Need?


  • A formal Mechanical or Design biased qualification – HNC minimum – Degree preferable.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing CAD complex designs.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor (or SolidWorks) and Revit.
  • Good knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360).
  • Strong design and technical skills.
  • A good appreciation of designing Structural Fabrications and Machined Parts.
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail required.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
